Tony Parker denies feud with Kawhi Leonard over their similar injuries

For 17 seasons, Tony Parker was a key member of the San Antonio Spurs and, over the course of his career, the French guard amassed four NBA titles, six All-Star appearances, four All-NBA nods and the 2007 NBA Finals MVP.

A person with knowledge of the negotiations says Parker has agreed to sign a two-year, $10 million deal with the Charlotte Hornets.

Still, even though it makes sense why the Spurs have moved on, it's going to be unusual to see Parker in a uniform other than the black and white of the Spurs. "We never had an argument", Parker told The Undefeated's Marc J. Spears.

Parker, 36, was drafted by the Spurs 28th overall in 2001 draft and has spent his entire professional career in San Antonio. He was named an All-Star six times and won four championships with the franchise during his decorated tenure. Parker leaves the San Antonio Spurs after 17 seasons, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski and Shams Charania of Yahoo! Parker was reportedly frustrated with how long Leonard was taking to return from injury after saying his quadriceps injury was "100 times worse".

Leonard demanded a trade out of San Antonio after he was limited to just nine games in 2017-18 because of an injured right quad.

In March, a frustrated Parker told the media that his injury was "a hundred times worse" than Leonard's. He took over the franchise and I gave up the torch of the franchise willingly. He also averaged a career-low 19.5 minutes per bout in 55 games. "He was the face of the franchise".

Parker will be reunited with new head coach James Borrego, who has been an assistant with the Spurs, Pelicans and Magic since 2003.

"The biggest joy for me has been to have the pleasure of watching TP grow up before our eyes", Popovich said.
