The sensors will be embedded into a display notch that appears to be relatively large compared to most other screen cutouts that can now be seen on the market, save for the ones on the Apple iPhone X and Xiaomi Mi 8, though both of those handsets have depth-sensing 3D camera systems on the front, something that the Pixel 3 series isn't expected to feature.

Only last week was the notch confirmed for the XL device after several phone cases emerged on Chinese e-commerce marketplace AliExpress.

Both devices will sport somewhat-dated single lens cameras on their rear, and appear to sport two sensors up front (although MySmartPrice notes that the second module could be an ambient light sensor).

It's probably going to be about three of four months before Google unveils the Pixel 3 and its XL counterpart to the world. The display might also have an 18:9 aspect ratio.

Both the phone are expected to come with Snapdragon 845, 6GB RAM and Android P. The USB Type-C port and the SIM tray both are located on the bottom edge of the smartphone, while the volume rocker and power button are situated on the left edge of the Pixel 3 XL. Both the phones will also feature front-facing stereo speakers.

There is no fresh information available on the specifications of the Pixel 3 and 3 XL smartphones.

Google has received a considerable amount of traction with its smartphones over a couple of years so it won't be surprising to see two more Pixel smartphones this year. The handset measures 145.6 x 68.2 x 7.9mm. The renowned industry insider, Steve Hemerstoffer (also known as OnLeaks) has come up with high definition (HD) 360 degree renders of the Pixel 3 and its larger variant. However, the larger Pixel 3 XL will opt for one.

There are a few "controversies" surrounding the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL.

The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are expected to be announced in September or October.

Google does not appear to be following the dual camera trend. But it's bigger screen version, Pixel 3 XL, is seen sporting one. We hope Google will be adding a feature to hide the notch. Also like a year ago, there's a glass coating at the top of the back of the device, with metal below that. Just to put things in perspective, Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, released past year, offers 16:9 and 18:9 aspect ratio, respectively.
