  • Details of the OPPO Find X revealed

The OPPO Find X is a device that sports a sliding mechanism which pops the entire top of the smartphone, uncovering the dual-rear-camera system and the selfie camera.

The phone's claim to fame is a 6.4-inch 1080p OLED display with a 92.26% screen-to-body ratio, making this the nearly bezel-free phone we have all been looking forward to. The handset will be going on sale in China starting today, and will be launched in India on July 12th.

The Oppo Find X is set to be available globally, although its retail price has not been revealed yet. Viewers can watch the live stream event below. The Find X's Smart Selfie Capture function will analyse the 3D model of your face to look at your face shape and features so it can provide feedback so you can up your selfie game. The front is all display, with a slight Galaxy S9-like curve around the side edges.

In fact, you're getting a full 6.42-inch panel running at 2,340 x 1,080 resolution.

Processor: The Oppo Find X is powered by the top-of-the-line Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. It may include up to 8GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage. It consists of a 16-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, OIS and f/2.0 aperture, and a 20-megapixel secondary camera with f/2.2 aperture. The front-facing camera is a 25-megapixel shooter. The phone packs a 3,730mAh battery and supports quick charging as well. OPPO's flagship offering has now gone official (via The Verge) and brings forth an impressive screen-to-body ratio of 92.25 percent.

As for the price, the Find X retails for almost $700 in China, but when it is sold the US that price will go skywards very easily.

The notch on the iPhone X is home to its speaker, front-facing camera, and all the clever sensors that enable Touch ID.

Since Lamborghini is often associated with speed, OPPO is finally introducing its Super VOOC charging technology on this special edition premium device. The front camera AI also supports 3D emojis.

All that drama would be for naught if the Find X was packing sub-par cameras; happily, on paper at least, that's not the case.

It is the same with the standard Find X, but decked out in Lamborghini styling.

OPPO Find X Initial Impressions: What's it like?

OPPO also showcased another variant of the Find X at its gathering at the Louvre. U.S. pricing and availability haven't been confirmed yet, nor whether Oppo has managed to secure any of those all-important carrier partnerships, but we'll presumably know more in the coming months.

The good news for the United States market is that the OPPO Find X will be the first phones from the manufacturer to be released in the USA market. The Find X Lamborghini Edition will be priced at an eye-watering EUR1699, or around USD$1965.
