  • Sarah Huckabee Sanders reportedly planning to leave White House

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders has denied a CBS report that she is planning to quit her job by the end of 2018.

"You just said it's in the Bible to follow the law", Acosta replied.

In response to the story, Sanders says she loves her job and is honored to work with President Donald Trump.

Acosta pressed Sanders on the issue, asking how it could be a "moral policy to take children away from their parents" considering the potential "horror" that could be experienced by the families as a result. "I would cite you to the Apostle Paul and his clear and wise command in Romans 13, to obey the laws of the government because God has ordained them for the objective of order". "That is actually repeated a number of times throughout the Bible".

'Each and every day I'll pray for clarity and discernment on what my future looks like, ' she said as she ended the briefing.

Sanders explained the administration is enforcing the current law, which she said has been on the books for years and the president is working to fix. They come to the border with nothing.

"It doesn't have to be the law", Acosta said.

"You're a parent, don't you have any empathy?" another reporter interjected.

On Wednesday, reporters were allowed for the first time to see a Texas facility housing almost 1,500 immigrant children separated from their parents by the USA government. Come on, Sarah, you're a parent! "You're a parent! Don't you have any empathy for what these people are going through?"

Sanders deflected the question by claiming Karem was simply looking for "more TV time". They have less than you do.
