Um, what the heck is the royal train? you may be wondering. They replaced the previous set that had been in use since World War II.

The duchess wore a beige Givenchy pencil dress and sat next to the Queen for the performance.

They were pictured laughing and joking throughout the day, and Meghan wasn't afraid to ask for advice from the monarch when she was unsure of the royal protocol.

On social media, there was plenty of discussion as to whether the Duchess was sending a very pointed message to her critics with the design of her dress.

A move to Canada might appeal to Meghan, who lived in Toronto for six years from 2011 while filming her role on TV legal drama Suits.

Rumor has it that Prince Harry has been advising Meghan Markle on how to act royal since they first announced their engagement. The two began their day opening the Mersey Gateway Bridge in Widnes and visiting the Storyhouse theater.

Markle is set to join the Queen for one last appointment at Chester Town Hall where they will enjoy lunch with locals brought together by the council. And behind the scenes, a lot of thought had gone into her green outfit - making the occasion even more special.

The Queen, who is known for her signature bright block colours and matching hats, wore a spring green coat by Stewart Parvin and matching hat by Rachel Trevor Morgan. "Showing people the ropes is a high priority for the Queen".

Meghan and the Queen were seated next to each other at the event, and had huge smiles on their faces as they interacted and whispered to one another.

While Meghan looked lovely in the pale pink design, plenty of armchair critics condemned her decision to bare her shoulders for the event, even claiming she "broke royal protocol".
