Transfer round-up: Arsenal to complete second signing, Chelsea FC’s Seri boost

The league starts at the scandalously early date of Saturday, August 11 but the games will be spaced out so that there will only be four games played by the start of September [no midweek league fixtures].

City will then take on Huddersfield Town in their first home game of the season, before rounding off August with a trip to newly-promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Although all fixtures dates are subject to change due to the requirements of broadcasters, the release of the Premier League schedule for the 2018-19 campaign enables managers, players and supporters to plot their club's route to success, whether it be a title push or battle for survival.

Fulham, who booked their place in the top flight with victory over Aston Villa in the Championship play-off final, begin at home to Crystal Palace, before the trip to Spurs is followed by Burnley at home and Brighton away.

The first Manchester derby takes place at City's Etihad Stadium on 10 November with the second at Old Trafford on 16 March.

The opening day of the season has the whopper clash between Arsenal and their tormentors from last season, the champions Manchester City.

"There is always a great atmosphere for games in Dublin and amongst Irish fans and I think it will act as a very important game for both teams as it is played so close to the start of the new Premier League season".

It is a similar story for neighbours United, who begin at home to Leicester.

Arsenal will play Chelsea on 1 August in the International Champions Cup. That hasn't, however, stopped the club preparing our pre-season plans.
