The duke and duchess previously announced they would visit Australia at the Invictus Games in Sydney.

The specific dates for Meghan and Harry touching down on New Zealand soil has not yet been released.

Following official confirmation by Kensington Palace, Mr Turnbull said in a statement: "As part of Their Royal Highnesses' official engagements in Australia, they will attend the Invictus Games in Sydney".

Their visit to Fiji and Tonga comes at the request of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

It's a moment that gives a window into how strict the royal protocol is, and how sweetly Prince Harry is guiding his American-born bride through learning her new role and the rules associated with it.

While many thought Markle looked stunning during her first major post-honeymoon appearance, others took issue with the off-the-shoulder design of the dress, calling it "inappropriate" and "a bit much" for the queen's birthday celebration.

The new Duchess of Sussex appeared on the balcony of Buckingham palace for the first time.

Meghan stepped out in an off-the-shoulder pale pink, Carolina Herrera dress with matching Philip Treacy hat, but the off-the-shoulder look was hailed as "highly inappropriate" by many royal watchers.

The visit will provide an insight into how Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, will manage the duties of being one half of a royal couple.

Meghan Markle joined Prince Harry as the Royals enjoyed the flypast.

In fact, it's believed the American actress began receiving "Duchess lessons" several months ahead of her Royal Wedding on May 19.

In her wedding veil, Meghan also gave a nod the Commonwealth with all 53 nations from the global network featuring in the embroidery.

The former Suits star attended last year's games in Toronto with Harry, and joined in again this year when she sheered on United Kingdom athletes at the trials.
