The 68th FIFA Congress will determine the site of the 2026 tournament, selecting from a joint North American bid submitted by Canada, the United States and Mexico, or a bid from Morocco.
The North American bid was awarded the 2026 World Cup by a 134-65 vote over Morocco, which had thrown itself into the mix on the last day possible past year, then tried to garner support be denouncing the United Bid and more specifically President Donald Trump.

Liberia from West Africa, due to political ties with the United States, has also snubbed Morocco but however, the United bid had to endure some unreceptive attitude during their presentation at a Caf meeting in Moscow on Monday.
The African nation also received the boost of US-governed territories Guam, Puerto Rico, American Samoa and US Virgin Islands abstaining from voting due to a perceived conflict of interest.
"We expect record profits for Federation Internationale de Football Association of (US)$11 billion", said Cordeiro, perhaps hitting the key button. It did not necessitate the construction of any new stadiums, whereas Morocco acknowledged it would have to spend $16 billion for infrastructure, including venues to host the matches.
