The Atletico Madrid superstar is now hesitant to join Barcelona, who hold a long-standing interest in securing his services. "United have a very good relationship with Dortmund, the teams were talking more closely [but] he chose to go to Arsenal instead". His progress at Atletico Madrid has been truly staggering, with the player's contribution being superb - 112 goals and 40 assists in 209 appearances.

French publication Foot 365 has claimed that Arsenal are due to meet with the player's representatives this week over a potential move to the Emirates.

And speaking to Spanish radio station COPE, Griezmann said: "If I'm going to continue at Atletico, I don't know, we'll see".

And five-time Ballon d'Or victor Messi, who is also preparing for the World Cup in Russian Federation, wants as much quality as possible at Camp Nou. "When the season begins we want to win everything, including the League and Cup, they're also important for us".

United boss Jose Mourinho has stressed for much of the last year that he is keen to keep Fellaini at the club - but he started just two league games since the turn of the year.

The France forward has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona, who could activate the £89m release clause in his Atletico Madrid contract.

Lionel Messi says he would "love it" if Neymar returned to Barcelona, and believes Antoine Griezmann would make a great team-mate too. What appears certain is that Barcelona aren't the favourites to sign him, with a move to Manchester United possible as well.
