The A76 brings a significant improvement in performance - up to 35% according to ARM. We've already seen the success of the recently launched Arm-based Windows10 PCs, delivering unimaginable 20-plus hours of battery life, a true LTE connected PC, and a trusted Windows app ecosystem. The Cortex A75 was further remarked as pulling more elements from this new mysterious project.

The Cortex A76 microarchitecture has been designed with high performance while maintaining power efficiency in mind. For those interested in the nuts and bolts of the new architecture, more information about the Cortex-A76 is available both on the blog and official product pages.

Arm has made considerable improvements in the graphics department.

ARM claims that the second generation DynamIQ core will provide enough power boost that a smartphone will be able to provide laptop-like performance on a smaller form factor.

Arm has introduced its Cortex-A76 CPU, a new microarchitecture enabling 35% more performance and 40% less power, and the ARM Mali-G76 GPU and Mali-V76 VPU to deliver "laptop-class performance" for mobile devices including smartphones and Arm-based Windows notebooks.

The new Arm Mali-G76 GPU, he wrote, will enable untethered gaming and on-device machine learning (ML) with 30 percent higher efficiency and performance over previous generations.

The Cortex A76 is important for Arm for a design perspective as it represents a new start from a clean sheet.

Additionally, Cortex-A76 brings an optimized memory system that will be isolated from the main operating system via TrustZone technology. In addition to this, it offers around 4x compute performance gains for handling AI and machine learning workloads. Going on its conventional path, ARM did not make any revelation about the commercial products that will make use of its new CPU and GPU which it has developed. This level of performance, power efficiency, and flexibility changes how consumers engage with their new PCs giving them more power to accomplish what they want to, whenever and wherever they want to accomplish it. Mali-G76 offers 30 percent improvement in performance and efficiency when it comes to the graphics department.

Finally, there's the Arm Mali-V76. The Mali-V76 supports 8K decode up to 60fps or four 4K streams at 60fps, which lets users stream four movies, record video while video conferencing, or watch four games in 4K, the company claims. It also promises up to four 4K stream decoding at the same time, or up to 16 streams in Full HD for a 4×4 video wall.
