"I thought Klay was incredible tonight, not just for 35 points and the nine threes, but his defense", Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. I just wanted to play with as much passion as I could tonight. Probably sounded more vocal than I usually am. Second-year G Patrick McCaw, who had been out since a scary back injury at Sacramento on March 31 when undercut by Vince Carter, received a roaring ovation when he entered the game late. Durant was on the wrong side of that performance. If there is good news for the Rockets, it's that they're playing at home where they are 2-1 against the Warriors in this series and an emotional crowd will be in red cheering for them. "It was really nerve-racking at the beginning and we didn't think that they were going to do it but they pulled it off", said Mountain View Warriors fan Suny Bates. The Houston lead grew to double digits within minutes and stayed that way through the break.

The Rockets led 39-22 after the first quarter behind four early threes from Eric Gordon. Curry posted nine of his 29 points, including draining 3-of-4 from 3-point range. He had been sidelined for nearly two months with a lumbosacral bone bruise but returned to a big ovation late in the fourth quarter, scoring two points in four minutes.

The other issue for the Rockets was depth. Paul essentially gives the Rockets two point guards in himself and James Harden, and allows Harden so much more freedom and spacing to be an elite scorer.

The Warriors are one win away from a fourth straight NBA Finals, while the Rockets seek their first Finals trip since 1995.

The Warriors were without one of their starters, too - Andre Iguodala.

It was Iguodala's third consecutive game sidelined with a left lateral leg contusion.

So that's the tale of the tape.

The Rockets missed Chris Paul. There is no word yet on whether he will play in game 7. This isn't the Klay Thompson who tries to sneak out before the Warriors PR staff insists that he talk to media. Obviously, they talked shop.

In times of trouble, the Warriors have relied on a trusted formula: a third-quarter surge. The only problem is that game sevens in the conference and National Basketball Association finals are not common. "At the same time, we'll rally and do what's right", D'Antoni said. "If not, we need to be ready".

The Rockets defeated the Warriors 98-94 in Game 5 in the meeting in Houston last Thursday to put the champs on the brink of elimination.

Curry: "It should be fun. I'm for sure going to find a Chipotle in Boston, I'll tell you that".
