Parents Sue 30-Year-Old Son for Refusing to Move Out

Resorting to drastic measures, New York-based parents have started legal proceedings against their 30-year-old son to evict him from their house.

The Rotondo's even offered their son money to find another place to live and fix his broken auto that sits in front of the home. You have 14 days to vacate.

However, they failed once again, so they reportedly offered their son $1,100 to "find a place to stay".

However, a 30-year-old man has revealed the extraordinary lengths his parents went to, to kick him out.

In a real-life case of "failure to launch", an upstate NY couple got so fed up with their unemployed 30-year-old son's refusal to leave home that they finally sued to evict him.

But they were told that because Michael is family, they would need a Supreme Court justice to officially send him packing.

"There are jobs available even for those with a poor work history like you", they write in the letter.

"You are hereby evicted", it read.

"It sounded kind of like that [to me], too", Rotondo said. "You're going to make it so that these people can just throw me out instead of letting me stay".

Despite doling out five eviction letters, Christina and Mark Rotondo say their son still refuses to move out.

A 30-year-old NY man is packing his bags and leaving his parent's home - because a judge said so.

In the time that he's been at home, Rotondo said he's never been expected to contribute to household expenses, assist with chores or the maintenance of the property. And then shortly afterwards it's like, "Hey you lost your son and get out of the house.' I was devastated when I lost my son", Rotondo said.

"It wasn't hard", he said, adding that he had done "a brief search of the Internet for the removal of a family member from a home.it took minutes". At Tuesday's hearing, New York State Supreme Court Judge Donald Greenwood sided with the parents.

"I don't presently expect to be there three months from now", he told the judge.

Despite that, Michael Rotondo insisted he should have been given six month's notice to move out, as per Kosa v. Legg which requires landlords to give tenants a six-month notice.

When asked what the business was, outside court he replied: "My business is my business".
