"If you can't get a definite guarantee, then the nuclear deal cannot be continued", he said. Administration-owned daily Iran, and reformist daily Etemad characterized the United States as "a hindrance" to furthering the JCPOA and welcomed its withdrawal. "And the Islamic Republic will still be standing".

Iran Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei shared an image of himself reading the Persian-language edition of Michael Wolff's 2018 book "Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House" on Friday, just days after President Trump pulled the US out of the Iran nuclear agreement.

When the book was released in January, it was described as a "bombshell" by commentators as it raised doubts over Mr Trump's mental health.

The photo was posted just days after Iran's President Hassan Rouhani appeared to troll the USA in the wake of Mr Trump's decision to pull out of the deal.

In a Sunday meeting with visiting Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena in Tehran, the Leader referred to the historical and cultural ties between Iran and sub-continent states including Sri Lanka and said the current level of relations between the two states is way lower than the existing capacities. Trump also announced plans to reinstate sanctions against Iran.

It was agreed between Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council - the US, UK, France, China and Russian Federation - plus Germany. Mr. Trump, I tell you on behalf of the Iranian people: You've made a mistake.

"The US wishes to tell the Islamic Republic what to do, but the Iranians are an independent nation and Americans can not stand this", Khamenei said.

Iranian lawmakers also set the Stars and Stripes ablaze inside the parliament and burnt symbolic copies of the nuclear agreement.
