Israeli soldiers on Sunday killed three Palestinians on claims that they crossed or were attempting to cross the southern Gaza border on Sunday.

President Mahmoud Abbas called on Monday for Palestinians to keep their children from protests along the border between Israel and Gaza, warning of a "handicapped" generation as the death toll from Israeli fire on protesters in the Gaza Strip mounts.

Palestinians try to pull down part of the border fence between Israel and Gaza east of Jabaliya in the northern Gaza Strip, during the fifth straight Friday of mass riots along the border between Gaza and Israel, on April 27, 2018. The other was detained for questioning, it said.

It said "hundreds of rioters" tried to burn the fence and enter Israel, and went on to say that the crowd threw explosives, firebombs and rocks, and that troops opened fire "in accordance with the rules of engagement", halting the crowd. But it has defended the shrinking permit numbers from Gaza, saying Hamas exploits travelers to smuggle money or weapons.

Activists and rebels say Syrian government forces are preparing for an assault on Deraa, one of the last areas under rebel control.

Pompeo, the former Central Intelligence Agency director who headed overseas nearly immediately after he was sworn in on Thursday, even declined to make a slight criticism against the Israeli military for its use of live fire against Palestinian protesters in the blockaded sliver in the past few weeks.

The officer spoke on condition of anonymity under military guidelines.

After stops in Saudi Arabia and Israel, Pompeo headed to Jordan's capital, Amman, where he held talks with Ayman Safadi, Jordan's minister of foreign affairs, on Monday. It says Hamas uses the protests as cover for terrorism.

A military spokesperson said in a statement on Sunday that two suspects were identifying trying to sabotage the fence that separates between Israel and the besieged Palestinian enclave, Xinhua news agency reported.

The rights groups that petitioned the high court said that even if protests turn into riots, lethal force against unarmed demonstrators can only be used a last resort - in the event of a life-threatening situation.

Since 1948, the Israeli regime has denied Palestinian refugees the right to return, despite United Nations resolutions and worldwide law that upholds people's right to return to their homelands.

Israel usually points a number of hundred thousand entry permits a 12 months for West Bankers, starting from day passes to these legitimate for a number of months, for work, well being care, research and different functions.
