After facing heat on throttling older iPhones, now Apple has announced that the component failure in a limited number of MacBook Pros has caused the built-in battery to expand, adding, it will offer worldwide free replacement for such batteries. The company is offering free battery replacements to customers with eligible hardware. The units with the possible defect were manufactured between October 2016 and October 2017, though it isn't clear exactly how widespread this issue is as no official number of affected MacBooks has been released. Eligibility for the battery replacement program is linked to the serial number of the laptop.
Replacing the battery could take between three to five business days, Apple has warned, and may require the device to be shipped to an Apple Repair Centre.
You can punch in the serial number of your 13-inch MacBook Pro and if your notebook does require servicing, you can head to the nearest Apple Authorized Service Provider.
More details at the link below. You will need to get in touch with Apple Support for that. (AAPL) will replace all eligible batteries. Apple said, "the flaw that has been reported in some 13-inch MacBook Pros without Touch Bars, is not a safety issue". Its devices might be expensive to buy upfront, but Apple can usually be counted on to come through when it determines a widespread issue.
Apple is going to keep this program around for 5 years after the first retail sale of the unit.
