Authorities in Florida say the man who shot two sheriff's deputies to death at a restaurant earlier this week had entered the establishment before firing the weapon.

The Sheriff's, Bobby Schultz, said Ramirez and Lindsey were inside the Ace China Restaurant in downtown Trenton around 3 p.m. when the shooting suspect, identified as 59-year-old John Hubert Highnote, shot the two through the window. The gunman was later found dead nearby.

Schultz said law enforcement has been "demonized" by "every type of hate", and all his deputies were guilty of was "wanting to protect you and me".

Sasser addressed the SF community saying "We mourn the loss of these revered members of our family and offer prayers and support to their loved ones". "And we're very proud of them".

There is still no known motive behind the action of the man who gunned down two Gilchrist County deputies having lunch Thursday in Trenton, Florida, officials with Alachua and Levy counties said Friday morning.

"Both our heroes had simply sat down to eat while on duty", police said later. There was no crime in progress, no disturbance.

Initial reports suggest that the suspect may have walked up to the restaurant and shot the deputies through the window. Police have identified the shooter as John Hubert Highnote, 59, of Bell, Fla., and they said Friday he had shot and killed himself in his vehicle parked outside the restaurant.

Then, Highnote got back into his vehicle parked outside, and killed himself. "The world is full of cowards and the world is full of heroes and we need to highlight those heroes and what they gave". "People will want to know why, and we may never have an answer for them".

Police officials told local reporters Friday that Highnote had no prior history with the Gilchrist County Sheriff's Office.

Schultz said he had spoken with both families.

He added, "Whether you're a large agency or a small agency, it hits you like a ton of bricks". Twice during his media briefing on Thursday, Sheriff Schultz mentioned negative public attitudes about law enforcement officers. Other than the fact, what do you expect happens when you demonize law enforcement to the extent that it's been demonized? "They just wanted to get something to eat, and they just wanted to do their job", he said.

President Donald Trump called the slain deputies "HEROES" in a tweet sharing his condolences with their friends, families and colleagues.

"My heart breaks with the tragic news of two Gilchrist County deputies that were senselessly killed today while in the line of duty", Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi wrote in a statement.
