  • Motorola Announces Moto E5, E5 Plus and E5 Play Smartphones

Up front, is an 8-megapixel camera for selfies and video calling. It packs 3200mAh battery with Turbo charging. The phones have a curved glass back, for better grip. I wasn't able to test this during my time with the phone, so wait for the full review to find out how well the Moto G6 fares when it comes to photography. Of the 6 phones, these will come to North America: Moto G6, Moto G6 Play, Moto E5 Plus, and Moto E5 Play. But this time, there are several changes made and there is a new design language that the company has got. The Honor 9 Lite, which costs £199, also features an 18:9 aspect ratio. The higher tier chip is 2.2GHz octa-core and will cope better with day-to-day tasks. However, the G6 comes with a USB-C "TurboPower" charger that the company boasts can supply the G6 with hours worth of juice after only a few minutes on the charger. As for optics, there is a 13-megapixels with PDAF and LED flash while at the front, there is a 5-megapixels with selfie flash. It can record full HD videos at 60fps. (There's also a 4GB/64GB model.) It has a 5.7-inch, 2,160-by-1,080 screen, and a 3,000mAh battery. The Moto E5 Plus works the hardest to look very similar to the Moto G6 series.

The Snapdragon 450 that's been chosen may only be one of Qualcomm's mid-range processors, but it's capable and should suffice for all but the most ardent 3D mobile gamers and multi-taskers. Both the versions will come with 64GB storage.

The Moto G6's dual cameras can recognize object and landmarks instantly within the stock camera app. There's also a dual-tone dual-LED flash on the back. As for optics, there is a single 12-megapixel rear camera which comes with f/2.0 aperture, 1.25-micron, and laser autofocus.

The Moto G6 and Moto G6 Plus are backed by a 3,000mAh and 3,200mAh battery respectively and charge via USB Type-C and support 15W TurboCharging.

Despite having a large 18:9 screen, the fingerprint scanner sits on the front rather than the back. As for the sensors, the Moto G6 has accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor and compass. That's because they're using Motorola's new 2:1 aspect ratio big lovely screens. The phone is powered by Snapdragon 430 chipset and Adreno 505 GPU.

You get 16GB of internal storage, but these days that can fill up pretty quickly. The phone runs Android 8.0 Oreo, out of the box. There's also an accelerometer, a gyroscope, proximity sensor, while the phone skips on the digital compass. As we saw with the Moto Z2 Play past year, the "Play" moniker no longer means "slightly cheaper with a huge battery" as much as it just means "the lowest-end model in the lineup" - and that rings true here.

Where the G6 Play beats, its counterpart is in battery life.

Android 8.0 Oreo on Moto Z Play will unlock several features for its users. The phone is priced at €200 (INR 16,291 approx).

As for the screens, they're both 720 x 1,440 in resolution and both employ IPS panels that seem nice and bright and colourful.

Supports up to 128GB microSD card, microSD cards sold separately.

You might expect from the lower price the E5 phones to look and feel cheaper than their G6 counterparts but that's not the case. The Play has an enormous 4,000mAh battery.

It has a fingerprint sensor on the front with a neat little trick.
