The Eagles confirmed his arrest, saying in a statement that they were "gathering more information".

The 23-year-old Worley is a Philly native who spent the first two seasons of his National Football League career with the Carolina Panthers after they selected him in the third round of the 2016 National Football League draft out of West Virginia.

Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Daryl Worley was reportedly tased and then arrested in Philadelphia early Sunday morning. Worley had reportedly become "combative" with police.

The incident occurred near the Eagles' team facility. While he was in college at West Virginia, he entered a no contest plea and was given a six-month suspended sentence for an altercation with a woman outside a nightclub.

Allegedly, Worley was found with a gun in his possession and police had to use a taser in order to subdue him for arrest.

He started 25 games in his two seasons with the Panthers, who took him in the third round of the 2016 draft.

It is not yet clear why Worley, who is a Philly native, was arrested.

Worley was traded to the Eagles for wide receiver Torrey Smith in March. It doesn't sound good.
