And, on Wednesday, Crown attorney Michael Cantlon confirmed the accused serial killer now faces yet another first-degree murder charge for the death of Abdulbasir Faizi.

Bruce McArthur, who appeared in court through a video link, has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of Abdulbasir Faizi.

Police allege McArthur killed Faizi on or around December 29, 2010, in Toronto, court documents show.

McArthur was already charged in Navaratnam and Kayhan's murders. She said his auto was discovered six days later just around the corner from a house where human remains were recovered in planters in midtown Toronto.

Police are expected to update the public at 1:30 p.m. on three aspects of the investigation.

Later that month, McArthur was charged with the first-degree murder of Majeed Kayhan, Soroush Mahmudi, and Dean Lisowick.

February 8, 2018 - Police say they've recovered the remains of six people from planters at a house where McArthur worked as a landscaper, and say they expect to lay more charges. Investigators said they were taking this rare step in the hopes that someone could help identify the person.

Speaking at a news conference to provide new information about the investigation, which has made worldwide headlines, lead investigator Det. "At least one set of remains has yet to be identified and the remains of Majeed Kayhan have not been identified".




They have not specified how the victims were killed.

They are also reviewing 15 unsolved murder investigations dating from 1975 to 1997.

Over the years police launched two projects into the disappearances of men from the gay village.

Police are also waiting for warmer weather to investigate other properties associated with McArthur, Idsinga said. -Sgt. Hank Idsinga had said.

Forensic teams are still collecting evidence from McArthur's apartment in the city's Thorncliffe Park neighbourhood. The image showed a bearded middle-aged man with his eyes partially closed. Police say McArthur is believed to be responsible for other deaths. He said they have been able to eliminate the majority of those and they're still looking into 22 potential identities.
