Several music videos were deleted from YouTube on Tuesday, in an apparent hack. One of the videos on Vevo's front page was re-titled "X - Hacked by Kuroi'SH & Prosox".

In particular, they replaced the most viewed video in the history of the service, the video for the song "Despacito" Puerto Rican singers Luis Fonsi conquering such markets, and daddy Yankee, own video.

Vevo states that it has patched the vulnerability that enabled the hacks and is working on discovering the source of the issue.

Tuesday's security breach exclusively affected a handful of video that originate on Vevo. All of these videos were released on Vevo. Shakira and Maluma's "Chantaje" was altered, as were videos from Chris Brown, Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Drake, Katy Perry, and DJ Snake.

But it is not the only video which got targetted by hackers.

This also isn't the first time Vevo has been hacked.

Vevo previously suffered a security breach in September previous year when the firm's internal files were obtained and then leaked online. Some of the account listings have been restored to their original state, although others still show the text: "Hacked by Prosox & Kurioi'SH".

That attack, which targeted the company's internal documents, didn't affect YouTube either.

And now they have tried to mock one of the most powerful social media platforms by easily infiltrating their system.

The account later added a message to Vevo saying they hadn't deleted Despacito.

The song is the only video on Youtube which has crossed over 5 billion views mark.
