IOS 11.3 Features: Check Battery Capacity, Access Health Records & More

  • Apple Is Releasing a New Battery Tool to Fix Your Slow iPhone

iOS 11.3's main new feature is the new battery management features. The recent revelations around Facebook logging users' calls and texts, for example, were centred around Android phones, not iOS devices. According to the iOS 11 release notes from Apple: "Fixes a problem that could cause the capitalization of the first letter of some words by the automatic correction feature". To access the update, go to Settings - General - Software Update.

Battery Health can be found in Settings and then by pressing Battery on iPhone 6 and later. The battery health menu, now added, is due to a lot of criticism that Apple faced when it was discovered that iOS has the ability to slow down peak processor performances on goal to prevent unexpected shutdowns.

It should make it easy to have a conversation with customer support. Apple says it's a beta feature for now. To make the usage of data more transparent, Apple has introduced a privacy icon and detailed privacy information which will appear when the company needs any specific information about the user or the device.

ARKit, Apple's augmented reality framework for developers, will be updated with the ability to accurately map irregularly shaped surfaces like circular tables and recognise and place virtual objects on horizontal surfaces. These new Animoji don't add any new functionality but are created using iPhone X's TrueDepth sensor that records facial expressions of the users.

The software will also introduce four new Animoji: a lion, bear, dragon and skull. These additions have been a part of 11.3 beta releases for a while, and now brings the total number of Animoji up to 16.

Like Facebook Messenger, iMessage is gaining the capability to let users talk with businesses. Locally, users in CT that are a part of Yale New Haven Hospital's database are able to access their medical information inclusive of charts, lab results, medications, conditions and more.

Apple has previously promoted its services and smartphones as being privacy-focused. This should be a quick way to get in touch, letting you ask questions or even buy things (using Apple Pay) right from Messages. Apple plans to bring iOS 12 in WWDC 2018 keynote on June 4.

USA tech giant Apple has rolled out new iOS 11.3 update for iPhone and iPad. A move like that nearly guarantees that the update is going to land any day now, and in another sign that the release date is imminent, a French developer shared the full release notes for iOS 11.3 on Twitter this morning.
