  • Toni Kroos slams below-par Germans after Brazil defeat, but coach Joachim Loew keeps cool

Germany host Brazil in a mouth-watering friendly at Berlin´s Olympic Stadium on Tuesday as part of both teams´ build-up to June´s World Cup in Russia. It will be their first meeting since the Germans stunned Brazil with five goals inside half an hour in a 7-1 romp in the semi-finals of the 2014 World Cup.

While Dunga was floundering with the national side, Tite was winning the Brazilian manager of the year award in 2015, winning the league title for the second time with Corinthians in the process.

"The 7-1 game is the most recent game". This is a different Brazil, a better-balanced outfit under impressive coach Tite. The 7-1 is no longer an issue for us - just having the two sides play against each other is special.

"Now Brazil may have some thoughts of revenge but you can not really do that because you can not bring that semi-final back". Brazil also halted another Germany 22-game unbeaten run in 1998.

Brazil will be without the injured Neymar, with the Paris Saint-Germain player recovering from a foot injury, on Tuesday night, too, and Sane was stating a consensus view when he said: "Brazil have learned a lot since then [2014]".

Following the back injury that sidelined him for nearly all of the 2013-14 campaign and subsequent World Cup, Gundogan dislocated his kneecap to miss Euro 2016.

Their best chance of an equaliser came from Julian Draxler's long-range effort in stoppage time, but Alisson managed to push the effort over the bar to seal the win for Brazil.

In contrast to the Brazilians, the Germans see the friendly as just another chance to fine-tune before the 2018 World Cup starts in Russian Federation later this year.

Germany almost stole a draw in the 92nd minute when Toni Kroos found space to shoot, but goalkeeper Alisson did well to save.

More worryingly for Germany head coach Joachim Loew ahead of the World Cup in Russian Federation, his captain Jerome Boateng twisted his right ankle and was forced off in the second half. A win over Germany will show that Brazil are a strong side again and that should be a huge motivation for the team. They have really good people, my (Real Madrid) team-mate Casemiro is doing well - they have come together well.

He is expected to be fit in time for the World Cup, which kicks off on June 14.

Jerome Boateng has revealed that he has never watched back the 2014 World Cup final, which Germany won against Argentina.

Germany have a settled side and it looks like they will be a force in the World Cup. These two teams will have tons of pride to play for as they face this week.
