Neymar indeed wants a Barcelona return

He has now decided that a move back to Spain is what he wants and has made his former club aware of his interest in a possible return, according to reports in Spain.

Neymar essentially forced his way out of the club by handing in a transfer request, with Barca eventually letting him go after PSG activated his €222 million release clause.

Neymar, who joined Paris Saint-Germain in a £198 million transfer last summer, seems to regret his decision.

The PSG board were convinced that the arrival of the Brazilian will add more to the attack when he links up with striker Edison Cavani but the relationship between the two have not been what the French side expected.

PSG were outclassed by Real Madrid and were dumped out of the Champions League after a 5-2 defeat.

Neymar reportedly even apologised to them for being stubborn last summer.

Spanish journalist Guillem Balague has said Neymar is ready to leave Paris Saint-Germain after deciding he wants to play for a more "competitive" team.

However, despite scoring 29 goals and assisting another 19 strikes in just 30 appearances so far this season, Mundo Deportivo has suggest that Neymar has sent messages to former teammates and club representatives saying he would be prepared to return.

After fracturing his metatarsal against Marseille in a Ligue 1 clash, a week prior to Real Madrid defeat, Neymar is now recovering from the injury and is eyeing to be deemed fit before the World Cup.

The Parisians are all but guaranteed to regain the Ligue 1 title after building a 14-point lead, however it's also very likely that manager Unai Emery will lose his job once the season ends.
