But that misstep is entirely overshadowed by one of the video's final images: the mind-boggling simultaneous landing of the rocket's two outer boosters.

If the consequences will come, then the problem can be solved more optimally, and now we need to take care of that more globally.

"I'm very close to the cutting edge in AI and it scares the hell out of me". He said that while many people may view Martian expeditions as an "escape hatch for the rich", in fact, it's more like what Ernest Shackleton promised his Antarctic explorers: "It'll be hard, dangerous, and there's a good chance you'll die".

"For the early people that go to Mars, it will be far more unsafe", he said. "I love dad jokes, I'm a dad!" The production of the Tesla Model 3 electric auto, for example, has been plagued by delays.

Elon Musk said there are two things stressing him out most: production delays with the Tesla Model 3 and the dangers of artificial intelligence. He had to borrow money from friends to keep going. Musk said that he is expecting the spacecraft's first "short up-and-down flights" by the first half of 2019. Instead he funnelled his own money, from the sale of PayPal, into the businesses. The only auto companies that haven't gone bankrupt are Tesla and Ford.

Today's conversation ranged over all things Musk - from SpaceX and Tesla, to The Boring Company, Neuralink and the billionaire's concerns about artificial superintelligence.

The event is called "Elon Musk Answers Your Questions!". He expressed a need for regulating AI development to ensure the safety of humanity, but he didn't say who should regulate it.

"Mark my words", he said, "AI is much more risky than nukes".

"I'm not normally an advocate of regulation and oversight", he added.

Musk proposed that digital intelligence should instead be directed to maximise "the freedom of action of humanity".

"Actually, not many hands raised, by the way", Musk noted.

"Those experts who think AI is not progressing: look at things like Go", Musk said.
