  • Celtic ace Scott Brown takes dig at Rangers after Old Firm victory

Substitute Odsonne Edouard scored the victor as Celtic overcame the dismissal of Jozo Simunovic to beat Rangers 3-2 in a pulsating Old Firm derby.

Celtic captain Scott Brown said he and his teammates did their talking on the pitch as they came from behind to beat Rangers.

Murty's side were twice pegged back by goals from Tom Rogic and Moussa Dembele, and the Rangers boss, whose side boasted a six-match winning streak prior to kickoff, feels that his troops have let a big chance pass them by today.

Jozo Šimunović was sent off with 33 minutes to play, but Celtic found its victor and went nine points clear of their historic rivals with a match-in-hand.

The energetic pace of the game has continued, and Rangers restored their lead midway through the second half, Daniel Candeias drilling the ball low past Bain after more uncertainty in the Celtic penalty area.

'We have a plan when we go to 10 men, you could see what the players were doing and they dealt with that final 30 minutes really well. "We made some mistakes in the first half defensively and went behind".

'A great victory for us and we deserved it. "We usually do our talking on the park".

Rangers' early joy lasted just eight minutes as Rogic replied in spectacular fashion, curling into the top corner from 25 yards.

Declan John's low cross evaded a host of bodies and fell for Candeias to fire home at the far post.

Again Celtic responded brightly and Wes Fotheringham was forced into brilliant saves to deny Dembele and Callum McGregor.

Four minutes injury time were added on, but Rangers could not find another goal and slipped to a defeat which all but ends their hopes of challenging Celtic for the title.

"It was a great, enormous performance", he said after the game.

Bain made his first big save to prevent Morelos's drive putting Rangers ahead for a third time after another slip by Boyata.

Hoops defender Jozo Simunovic was shown a straight red by referee Willie Collum for using an arm to brush off Gers striker Alfredo Morelos in the 56th minute, and Rodgers understood Collum's decision to send him off.
