Anthony Davis returns to Pelicans' lineup after 1-game absence

The Utah Jazz continued their strong play in New Orleans, ending their 3-game road trip with a 116-99 victory over the Pelicans Sunday. Utah finished with a 55-38 rebounding advantage. He then sat out Friday night against Washington, which handed the Pelicans their first loss in 11 games.

If Davis is able to play, he will try to record his sixth consecutive double-double against the Jazz after averaging 23.8 points and 13.0 rebounds in the previous five meetings along with 2.2 steals per contest.

The score was tied three times early in the third quarter before Davis scored seven points help the Pelicans open a 66-57 lead.




Rondo has been offensively solid in the three games between the teams this season, averaging 14.3 points and 7.3 assists while shooting 58.1 percent and making seven of 14 from 3-point range.

The Jazz have now won 11-straight games on the road, and they've won 18 of their last 20 games.

Davis, who turned 25 on Sunday, is averaging 28.1 points, 11.1 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game this season, his sixth in the National Basketball Association.

Utah has a 17-2 record in its last 19 games and has been the best defense in the league since January 1, allowing 98.8 points per game. The Pelicans subbed out Davis and Jrue Holiday shortly thereafter. He had 24 in the second game between the teams, but shot six of 17.
