Palestinian security sources said the clash was started by the settlers, after which the army intervened and fired at a group of Palestinians.

On Friday, the European Union announced that it rejects the Israeli law in which grants the Interior Minister the power to strip residency rights from Palestinians in occupied Jerusalem, it has been reported.

"We are experiencing terrorist attacks by Arabs from the villages near the settlement, nearly daily", said Yitzhar secretariat chairman Uriah Cohen.

When the security coordinator arrived at the scene, his vehicle was pelted with stones, the spokesman said.

Last Tuesday, the Israeli settlers attacked the Palestinian village of Madama, to the South of Nablus.

The ministry said the victim, identified as Mohammed al-Jabari, 24, was shot during clashes between Israeli forces and Palestinian protesters in the southern West Bank city of al-Khalil (Hebron) on Friday.

The Health Ministry in Gaza also reported three wounded in clashes by the border with Israel, one severely and two moderately.

According to the Iranian Press TV media outlet, the official said that the Egypt-brokered meetings were a major development in the apparent warming relations between Saudi Arabia and Israel.

The official Palestinian news agency Wafa said the man had disabilities, without elaborating.

The Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) blasted the decision, with senior official Saeb Erekat saying, "The American administration's decisions to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital and choose the Palestinian people's Nakba as the date for this step is a blatant violation of worldwide law".

Palestinians have staged regular protests, which have often turned violent, since President Donald Trump's recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital in December.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has invited Trump to visit Israel for the occasion. A number of Muslim leaders have warned the move may lead to violence.
