  • Dark Souls Nintendo Switch Amibo and Network test confirmed ahead of remaster release date

Dark Souls: Remastered is perhaps one of the most hyped up games in the market at this moment and fans are anxious about the game.

The Solaire of Astora amiibo in all its glory.

Dark Souls: Remastered enables players to explore the twisted ancient land of Lordran in the first title of the critically acclaimed action role-playing series like never before. However, this freedom won't extend to the Amiibo figure's availability.

The emote can be unlocked through gameplay, so it seems the amiibo is more of a collector's item. Tapping the Amiibo will allow players to use the game's "Praise the Sun" gesture.

As part of today's Nintendo Direct, Bandai Namco announced that there will be a Network Test (beta) for the upcoming Dark Souls: Remastered release. It does make me wonder whether or not we might see the inclusion of the Solaire of Astora in Super Smash Bros on Switch.

There are now no details about the test, but we'd imagine it'll take place next month, probably over the course of a weekend.

Dark Souls: Remastered comes out on the Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC on May 25. The Amiibo will cost $15.99.

Dark Souls: Remastered is an HD rerelease of the original game of the same name in 2011.
