Browns Acquire Jarvis Landry From Dolphins

  • Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry signs his franchise tender

Jarvis Landry's days with the Miami Dolphins are reportedly over.

Trades can't be official until March 14, the first day of the new league year.

The Cleveland Browns entered the 2018 offseason with an abundance of cap space and draft picks. With Landry gone, 2018 is now a make or break season for Parker.

Landry, 25, has made the Pro Bowl the past three seasons.

"Y'all better understand (stuff) about to get SERIOUS..."

Trade rumors have surrounded Landry. It'd be unusual if the Browns gave up two draft picks for Landry and then handed him a lucrative contract all for him to catch screen pass after screen pass.

The Dolphins couldn't trade Landry until he signed his franchise tender; now he can be moved if that's the direction the organization chooses to go.

His volatile personality had been a cause for a concern - especially on a team that went 6-10 past year in part because of poor discipline. He was ejected in the fourth quarter of the season finale, a loss to Buffalo, and coach Adam Gase said the episode was embarrassing and "extremely bad". Despite leading the league in catches, he finished with the 17th-most receiving yards (987), which means he averaged only 8.8 yards per catch. But letting Landry leave in the prime of his career could be one of the franchise's biggest blunders. If you're a Landry defender, it shows a receiver who was misused by the Dolphins. Acquiring Landry has likely changed those plans and the Browns can address a multitude of other needs.

With 12 picks in this year's draft, including the Nos. Cleveland also has former first-round picks Corey Coleman at receiver and David Njoku at tight end.
