Asked if he was disappointed with Trump, Putin told state TV that he had no such feeling, adding he had a very positive impression of Trump, whom he met on the sidelines of worldwide summits previous year.

Speaking to state broadcaster Russia-1 for a documentary series called "The World Order", Putin praised the American leader's communication skills, saying "it's possible to negotiate with him, to search for compromises".

Venting his frustration with the US political system, Putin said "it has demonstrated its inefficiency and has been eating itself up".

Trump and his administration have denied the allegations of the ties with Russian Federation, however, Trump's attitude and policies have remained questionable towards Putin.

The Trump administration could impose new sanctions on Russian entities as soon as next week, a senior administration official told CNN. He continued: "Those who serve us with poison will eventually swallow it and poison themselves".

Asked about the tense relationship, Putin said it's based on the West's efforts to weaken Russian Federation. "Without an effectively working economy, without a social sphere that creates the foundation for political stability, we can't talk about any greatness".

The former KGB agent promised he hadn't tried to "turn" Melania Trump, "no, I stopped doing that a long time ago".

He also blamed the United States for what he alleged was its role ousting Ukraine's Russia-friendly president in February 2014 amid massive street protests. Putin did not deny that Russian individuals or Russian companies were involved with the election, but he denied any involvement by the Russian government.

'A decision about using nuclear weapon can be made only if our missile warning system recorded not only the launch of missiles, but also gave an accurate prediction of flight trajectories and the time when the warheads fall on Russian Federation'. "We are a great power, and no one likes competition."When questioned about his announcement of new Russian Nuclear weapons last week, said that although he hopes the weapons will never need to be used, that Russia will retaliate if it comes under attack". But the Foreign Office later clarified that his remarks about United Kingdom representation at the football World Cup in Russian Federation did not mean a boycott by the actual team, merely dignitaries. But as a citizen of Russia and the head of Russian state I would ask: "What is such a world for, if there were no Russia?"
