Although, a statement by the MHA said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had expressed his displeasure on the demolition of statues in Tripura and Tamil Nadu, the latter has not tweeted about this yet. MHA has taken serious notes of such incidents of vandalism. After police arrested the two men, it was revealed that one of them is a BJP worker and a torrent of condemnation have been flowing in BJP's way ever since. Raja has since deleted his tweet.

Why? Why BJP hates Lenin so much? He has even spoken to Home Minister Rajnath Singh regarding such deplorable acts.

In Tripura Assembly polls 2018, Left was defeated by the BJP and its ally People's Front of Tripura. And yes, social media was awash with pictures on Tuesday evening from the Sri Lanka communal flare-up being passed off as "right-wing violence in Tripura".So, is the BJP trying to match the Marxists lumpen for lumpen?

After Lenin's statue in Tripura and Periyar's statue in Tamil Nadu, now Bhimrao Ambedkar's statue has been demolished in the BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh.

Following the complaints lodged by CPM functionaries, the police registered an FIR and arrested the driver of the JCB, who was later let off on bail.

He said the statue was set up a year ago in Belonia, South Tripura's district headquarters, around 90km from Agartala. The statute had been installed in 2013 at a cost of three lakh rupees.

The thumping victory kicked off a frenzied celebration by BJP supporters which degenerated into clashes with their communist opponents and rioting. It made the observations after hearing a public interest litigation filed by advocate Surya Prakasam after Bharatiya Janata Party leader H Raja's provocative Facebook post on the statue of social reformer EV Ramaswamy, better known as Periyar.

Chief Justice Indira Banerjee of the Madras HC stated that all the statues have to be protected, in the light of the act of vandalism on a Periyar statue in Tirupattur.

It's true that the BJP fight's against the Left in Tripura was a bitter one, so much so, that to some extent, party workers and sympathisers' emotional overflow in removing statue of Lenin, the symbol of Left, is understandable. What is his relevance in India?

Similarly, it is natural for them to hate Lenin who inspired working people all over the world to fight against corporate exploitation and colonial oppression.
