HMD Global's big MWC 2018 event saw the arrival of 5 new phones, none of which were the long-awaited Nokia 9.

The names of the upcoming two Nokia branded flagships are still unknown to sources of PhoneArena yet it is likely that HMD will go with most rumored options i.e.

According to Nokiapoweruser, HMD Global is going to release the Nokia 8 Pro and Nokia 9 in 2018. Both are set to run on the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 845 processor. The report mentions that the Nokia 9 could have a camera even more powerful and innovative than the Nokia 8 Pros with its supposed Penta-lens setup. Nokia 9 may feature a slightly larger display as compared to the Nokia 8 Pro.

HMD Global releases their flagship Nokia in the Philippines. The phone now being referred to as the Nokia 9 could get a name change as well. And, lastly, the Nokia 8 Pro might make an earlier appearance with the Nokia 9 expected to launch in September (around IFA 2018?).

As far as the internal hardware is concerned, it is also expected to come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor and boast Penta-lens camera on the back. Coming to the camera front, the smartphone will bear a dual-camera setup at the back panel.

As a side note, the rumored Nokia 9 in 2017 turned out to be the Nokia 8 Sirocco. It is said to have a circular module and house seven holes, among which five will be cameras and the other two will be LED flashlights. The primary sensor will be of 12-megapixel, while the secondary sensor will be of 13-megapixel. To power the phone, there may be a battery of 3,250 mAh. The phone is expected to launch in the USA this summer and if you're wondering about the price tag, you can rest assure that is going to be one affordable piece of 4G-capable handsets because the device will retail in Europe for €89 this May so how expensive could it really get in the U.S?
