Is Blizzard Teasing Diablo on Switch?

Either Blizzard has some hot new merch for Diablo fans or they're bringing Diablo 3 to the Nintendo Switch.

Blizzard on Twitter earlier this week shared a video of a demon-themed nightlight being turned on and off.

Blizzard's tweet with the Diablo nightlight and its response to the rumors are not the only clues that Diablo III may be coming to the Nintendo Switch. This side of the debate is backed up by a post made by South Park that said "Nin-ten-do". Blizzard reached out to Polygon via phone call denying the recent buzz, but leaving it suspiciously open ended with an "we have nothing to announce".

Blizzard Entertainment has created some of the most successful IP in video games, with Warcraft, StarCraft, and Diablo being the most prominent.

I doubt we'll hear anything about this project until Blizzard is ready to show the game running in all its glory. It's been ported to the PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2013, and then to the PS4 and Xbox One the year after - with updates for the PS4 Pro and the Xbox One X. The original Diablo 3 console releases already did the hard work figuring out how to translate the game's controls to a gamepad, which up to that point had only been designed for mouse and keyboard. But with the Switch selling like it is, and thinking about how good Diablo III would be on the go, it makes a lot of sense.

There's only really one way you could interpret this Blizzard tweet.

Well, the joy didn't last much, because it seems it was kind of a sad joke.
