Obama: There is no political influence in any investigation

Though numerous messages already had been made public, President Donald Trump quickly seized on their release, writing on Twitter, "NEW FBI TEXTS ARE BOMBSHELLS!".

The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee had released the texts alongside a report on the FBI's investigation into Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server while she was secretary of state.

Newly revealed text messages between paramours Peter Strzok and Lisa Page include an exchange on September 2, 2016, about preparing talking points for then- Director James B. Comey to give to.

A new report from Senate Republicans yesterday alleged the FBI is biased against President Donald Trump, raising pressure on the agency as the White House fights off the mounting Russian Federation collusion investigation.

Though the committee's report was titled 'The Clinton Email Scandal and the FBI's Investigation of it, ' it clearly wasn't limited to it.

He added that Strzok and Page also resented Trump's supporters and the "ignorant hillbillys [sic]" who voted against then-FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe's wife for a state Senate seat.

The assertion of an agent in 2016 that President "wants to know everything" about the investigation into Hillary Clinton's emails was contrary, not surprisingly, to the Obama White House's insistence that scrupulously avoided political interference in the probe.

Also on September 2, 2016, though, the FBI released a full transcript - with redactions - of its interview with Hillary Clinton as part of the email probe, along with a memo summarizing the bureau's investigation of her use of a private email server during her tenure as secretary of state. Strzok and Page, who worked for a short period of time on Special Counsel Robert Mueller's team, have been in the spotlight ever since a slew of anti-Trump messages between them surfaced past year.

In texts that were previously released to Congress, Strzok and Page referred to Trump as an "idiot" and a "loathsome human". Later that month, on November 13, 2016, Page wrote, "I bought all the president's men".

"Omg, I am so depressed", Strzok replied.

In another text, agent Strzok repoted that Barack Obama was demanding frequent updates on their investigation. Text messages between two Federal Bureau of Investigation officials that have been reviewed by The Associated Press show they spoke admiringly of Comey at the time.

President Donald Trump took to Twitter shortly after the news broke and said: "NEW FBI TEXTS ARE BOMBSHELLS!".

In the final text between the two officials, Fox News reported, Page told Strzok: "Please don't ever text me again". "So, when I look back in terms of how we handled it, I think we handled it the way it should have been handled".

Also Tuesday, the House intelligence committee gave Bannon another week to negotiate the terms of a closed-door interview as the White House has put limits on what he can tell Congress. Bannon was under subpoena to appear Tuesday as part of the panel's Russian Federation probe, but Republicans pushed the deadline to next week as talks about the terms of his interview continued.
