Hornets ready to trade Kemba Walker to kick off fire sale

  • NBA trade rumors Hornets make Kemba Walker available prepare to hit reset button

Compare that to Kemba who is making only $12 million this season and is averaging 21 points, 5 assists, and 3 rebounds per game.

Recently, rumors about the Charlotte Hornets breaking their core up by trading Kemba Walker started surfacing. Charlotte is ready to rebuild and is willing to include Walker in a trade, in which it would receive a first-round draft pick or a good young player in return. Walker is the Hornets' best, most popular and culture-driving player.

Given that the Hornets were expected to be better than this, and that they just got coach Steve Clifford back from an extended absence because of a personal health matter, it would be reasonable to think Charlotte (20-23), now one game behind the Knicks (20-25), is a team that could pass them in the standings and improve the Knicks' odds in the draft lottery. Perhaps the Hornets really are open to trading him as the ESPN report suggests, but it still may be unlikely that anything comes of it as Kyler said.

Is there a team that will take any of these contracts RIGHT NOW to get Kemba? Don't get me wrong, I like Kemba.

Each of the contracts of Dwight Howard (two years, $47 million) Nic Batum (four years, $100 million) Marvin Williams (three years, $42 million) and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (three years $39 million) are absolutely awful value, especially considering each of those players' recent production. It's not like LeBron James will consider Charlotte in free agency if they clear enough cap space.

"I'd be pretty upset, but like I said". I doubt the Philadelphia 76ers pull the trigger, but there's reason to believe they should.

The Charlotte Hornets recognize the trade value that Walker possesses. It's kind of where I've grown up.

Look, you can trade anybody else on this roster.

Why it makes sense: The Knicks fan base - or front office - isn't exactly the most patient around, so it's hard to see them waiting the three or four seasons it could take for Ntilikina, the eighth-overall pick of the 2017 draft, to develop into a bona fide starter.

National Basketball Association trade rumors are heating up with the 2018 deadline now less than three weeks away.
