  • In Series Of Tweets You Tube Hints At “Further Consequences” For Logan Paul

Paul's channel, Logan Paul Vlogs, which has more than 15 million subscribers, is still active on YouTube and advertisers can still choose to advertise on his videos, or they can opt out.

It all went downhill for the popular vlogger during his trip to Japan where he filmed a video of a man in a forest who had recently committed suicide. Rather than immediately reporting the body to authorities, Paul used it as the centerpiece for a vlog, which resulted in sharp criticism across the internet.

"You're right to be", the company said. "You deserve to know what's going on", the series of tweets read in part. The video, which initially had 6 million views before Paul's team took it down, featured Paul and his friends encounter an apparent dead body of a suicide victim. As Anna Akana put it perfectly: "That body was a person someone loved".

Paul himself has posted a written apology to Twitter, claiming his intention was to "raise awareness for suicide and suicide prevention".

YouTube initially said the controversial video appeared to have violated its standards and that Paul's channel had been issued a strike (three strikes in three months leads to a channel's termination). In a tweet Tuesday, YouTube said: "We'll have more to share soon on steps we're taking to ensure a video like this is never circulated again".

YouTube is owned by Google, and creators like Paul earn money through Google's advertising services.

But many others slammed the platform for putting the vlogger's video on the trending list and then being reluctant in responding to the incident... For Logan Paul, social media is about to taketh away.

While the Trending page works mostly on an algorithm, drawing in statistics around engagement, likes and comments and the speed at which a video builds views, it is also constantly monitored by the site's technicians.

At the time, YouTube officials said they were strengthening their guidelines.

YouTube prohibits violent or gory content posted in a shocking, sensational or disrespectful manner, the company says.

Now, it has been officially announced that Logan will no longer be a part of Google's premium ad program. You can call the Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255 or for Spanish speakers at 1-888-628-9454.
