  • Congress to give reservation to Patidars: Hardik Patel

According to the Newspaper, Jirawala, too, filed his nomination papers with Congress mandate after a while.Kumbhani told TOI, "I had the party mandate and yet I was being told not to file my papers".

Solanki is alleged to have played spoil-sport to the pact between the two outfits. Hardik said if the Congress comes to power, it will conduct a proper survey for providing reservation. "Our primary goal is to get quota for Patidars and to achieve that, we first have to defeat BJP", he said.

In a strong comment on the Congress and Hardik Patel reaching a so-called pact on Patidar quota within OBC category for the upcoming elections, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley made it clear, that the two sides can only mutually deceive each other.

Later in the night, he informed that the rally has been cancelled.

Hardik however, said that they are not openly extending support to Congress, but since they are in fight with BJP, the support goes to Congress. Meanwhile, PASS also seems heading for a vertical split with a group charging Banmbhaniya of hobnobbing with the BJP and the NCP. On the 50 per cent reservation cap set by the Supreme Court, he said it is just a "suggestion" and nowhere in the Constitution is it written that reservation can not exceed the current limit. "In the name of reservation, Congress has given a "lollipop" to Hardik".

Citing various Supreme Court judgements, the BJP leader said it was not possible to exceed the cap set by the apex court. He dismissed rumours of any rift in PAAS. The bone of contention was reported to be seat sharing.

Sibal, however, held his cards close to chest when asked about the details of the formula the Congress and the Patel- led PAAS had worked out, adding the related issues would be decided later. "We will not protest against him as we need good and honest leaders in power".

Further clearing the air on the ticket distribution, the Patidar leader said, they have never asked for any ticket from the Congress party to contest the Assembly polls and there is "no conflict within the PAAS" regarding the same. I am not fighting for a ticket.
