Brock Osweiler will join Trevor Siemian on the sideline, and Paxton Lynch will get the start against the Raiders. Osweiler went 0-3 as the starter. The 2016 first-round pick hasn't gotten any playing time this season as he dealt with a shoulder injury. As such the remainder of the Broncos season will be defined by pride and opportunity. Unfortunately, the Broncos have seen none of that, with Lynch only throwing 83 National Football League passes, hitting on 59 percent of them. The Broncos ran the ball 28 times in the game as Lynch finished 12-of-24 passing for 104 yards without a touchdown or interception.

Joseph fired Mike McCoy on Monday and quarterbacks coach Bill Musgrave will serve as the interim offensive coordinator for the remainder of the season.

Joseph had said earlier this month it "wouldn't be fair" to play Lynch when Lynch had just returned to the practice field.

Sunday against the Bengals was the first game this season in which Lynch was active following his lengthy recovery.

His stats appear relatively middling, with a 59 percent completion rating, two touchdowns, one interception and a overall rating of 78.9. The Broncos need clarity at the position, and on Lynch specifically, as they plan for the offseason.

I know Denver has had the bulk of the success ATS in this matchup, but what have the Broncos done to show any of us that they're capable of hanging around with anybody right now? The Broncos aren't going anywhere in terms of postseason play and while there's still a mathematical chance that they could make the playoffs, there's also every reason to believe that Lynch won't be worse than the other quarterback offerings.
