  • Deshaun Watson Torn ACL: Quarterback Suffers Non-Contact Injury

Bad news out of Houston practice today as Houston Texans rookie quarterback Deshaun Watson has suffered a torn ACL and MCL according to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport.

He has collected a sack in all eight contests this season, tying a franchise record for consecutive games with a sack held by Jim Marshall (1969) and Jared Allen (2011).

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Houston Texans fear that their star QB may have torn his ACL. He suffered the injury on a non-contact play.

Watson was coming off the most impressive performance of his young career before suffering the injury. He led NFL QBs in rushing yards and was tied for first with 19 touchdowns in the air.

The NFL named Watson the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month and AFC Offensive Player of the Month.

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson (4) passes against the Seattle Seahawks in the first half of an NFL football game, Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017, in Seattle.

Watson also tore his ACL during his freshman year at Clemson. He passed for 1,699 yards and rushed for 269 more and two scores. Savage started the season at quarterback and to put it nicely the offense was bad.

Watson was the only quarterback with a passer rating above 100.0 in all of his four games in October.
