  • Delta addresses Thunder plane damage en route to Chicago

Hey @NASA @neiltyson @BillNye We had a rough flight to say the least.

Nobody on the plane was injured, however, the plane was left with a huge dent in the nose.

Despite the scary incident, according to WISN12, no one was injured as a result of the damaged plane.

The Oklahoma City Thunder were en route to Chicago on Friday evening after losing to the Timberwolves when their plane was struck by what is believed to be a bird.

"I guess we hit something?"

If you do an internet search for this type of crash, you'll find they're not uncommon because the nose of the plane is constructed from softer materials than the rest of the plane. 30000 feet in the air.

Several Thunder fans suggested the damage could have been caused by a bird strike - like this American Airlines aircraft damaged on its way to Dallas, Texas a year ago. The aircraft, a Boeing 757-200, landed without incident and customers deplaned normally.

That may change after what the Oklahoma City Thunder experienced early Saturday morning.

Carmelo Anthony, Josh Huestis, and Steven Adams all posted photos of the plane shortly after it landed around 12:45 a.m.

On Saturday a spokesperson for the Thunder told The Oklahoman that all players, staff and coaches were just fine upon their arrival in Chicago.
