The report confirms numerous issues raised in the Five Year Forward View for Mental Health published in 2016 and in particular, comments on the difficulties children and young people face in accessing appropriate support for their mental health concerns from a system that is fragmented and where services vary in quality.

Meanwhile the review made a series of suggestions for the Government, including making Statutory Sick Pay more flexible and encouraging the NHS to make sure mental health support was "accessible, high quality and fits around work". "It should spur employers into recognising that championing mental health and supporting employees makes good business sense and that inaction comes at a demonstrable cost".

Under the Equality Act (2010), your employer has a legal duty to make "reasonable adjustments" to your work.
