The Grizzlies (2-0) bench outscored the Warriors (1-1) bench 41-18.

The Warriors were trailing the Memphis Grizzlies by eight with under a minute to go when Curry drove to the basket and missed a layup.

Curry has stressed that he did not intend to throw his mouthpiece at the official.

LeBron James has scored 21 points and Kevin Love 19 points, but their teammates have gone completely off their game (38.4% success, 16 turnovers), with the exception of Iman Shumpert (21 points, also).

After the game, Curry took responsibility for throwing the mouthpiece but denied that he was throwing it at the referee intentionally.

Curry has been known to throw his mouthguard in the past when frustrated, including in the 2016 NBA Finals, where he also ghot ejected.

Curry was supposedly given the heave-ho after "going off" on a ref, with Durant suffering a similar fate because he cursed out officials for calls he thought were, shall we say, borderline at the very least. "I hope to be out there playing tonight and help my team get a win". "I don't necessarily think it will be something going forward that you'll see, but you obviously have some regret about going overboard a little bit and lashing out".

After the game, Warriors coach Steve Kerr joked about the incident, saying Curry should be suspended for "maybe ten games" for endangering the fans.

"It was egregious, it was bad, endangered thousands of people in the stands".
