"He would have to concern anyone who cares about our nation".

"You know he does it, everyone knows he does it, but he does", Corker added. The influential lawmaker had given Trump one of his earliest senate endorsements during the 2016 presidential race and reportedly enjoyed a personal friendship with the president.

When Obama didn't do that, Corker helped fellow senators write legislation that subjected the global accord to periodic congressional review. "Someone obviously missed their shift this morning".

"The Failing [New York Times] set Liddle' Bob Corker up by recording his conversation".

Sanders appeared ready to criticize Corker throughout the press conference.

Trump tweeted: "Senator Bob Corker "begged" me to endorse him for re-election in Tennessee".

"He also wanted to be Secretary of State, I said 'NO THANKS.' He is also largely responsible for the horrendous Iran Deal", Trump tweeted. "Was made to sound a fool, and that's what I am dealing with!" "Didn't have the guts to run!"

Every Republican senator up for re-election in 2018, with the exception of Sen.

"I know they're recording it, and I hope you are, too", Corker said.

Apparently unwilling to let Corker's "adult day care center" barb be the last word, Trump tweeted Sunday afternoon that Corker was an ineffective senator and could not "get the job done". He may have voted against the deal ultimately, but he not only allowed the deal to happen, he gave it credibility.

Corker, the former mayor of Chattanooga, has said in recent days that Trump behaves as if he's still on a reality TV show, that White House aides have to run an adult day care, and Corker suggested Trump's bluster and threats toward North Korea could set the US on a path to World War III.

"Look, except for a few people, the vast majority of our caucus understands what we're dealing with here", he said in the interview. Instead, Trump said the country was "on the wrong path before" on the North Korea threat. "Corker and the people of Tennessee", Sanders said.

Trump's attack also highlighted his increasingly strained relationship with Senate Republicans, who Trump feels have failed to deliver on his agenda.

But there are no signs of strain with Alabama's Senators.
