Angelina Jolie was, according to leaked e-mails given to the Sunday Times, involved in a plot involving the International Criminal Court, star prosecutor Luis Moreno Ocampo, Ugandan warlord Joseph Kony and a dinner date with her and her husband.

Britain's Sunday Times has seen a cache of leaked emails that include correspondence between former ICC chief prosecutor, Luis Moreno Ocampo, and Jolie and Clooney.

Moreno Ocampo wanted to embed Jolie and Pitt with US Special Forces close to Kony's stronghold, according to the report.

Kony and his Lord's Resistance Army movement had been fighting then to install a government in Uganda, and have waged war in the Democratic Republic of Congo, South Sudan, and the Central African Republic for more than 20 years, the BBC News said.

Jolie actually had publicly discussed her desire to somehow go after Kony, the Huffington Post said. An email from Jolie herself allegedly reads, "Brad is being supportive". Leaked sensitive details of documents from the International Criminal Court (ICC) revealed that the Hollywood superstar received an offer to help bait the Ugandan rebel leader. In another missive, he wrote, "Forget other celebrities, she is the one.She loves to arrest Kony". In a 2010 interview with Nightline, she admitted that she would be tempted to "take down" Kony if she were ever face to face with him. Moreno Ocampo wrote in an email to Jolie, per the Times. "They are eager to get Kony, but after meeting you, they will do it", there was no further discussion of the plan, which appears to have never come to fruition. Is it that Brad will go with you?

Neither the ICC nor Jolie's reps responded to PEOPLE's requests for comment.

Moreno Ocampo reportedly had his own fixation on Jolie. "I miss you", received no response.

The Argentine lawyer is now at the center of a row over his connections to Libyan businessman Hassan Tatanaki, who was closely tied to the brutal regime of former dictator Col. Muammer Gaddafi.

Mr Moreno Ocampo claimed in a statement to the Financial Times that: "Someone is attempting to blackmail me using illegally obtained information".
