  • Las Vegas Shooting: Paddock's 'Girlfriend' Has Left Philippines

Marilou Danley, a petite 62-year-old casino hostess from the Philippines, is in the cross-hairs of the Federal Bureau of Investigation as the authorities seek to determine what led her boyfriend to carry out the worst mass shooting in recent USA history. She flew from Manila to Hong Kong on September 22 and returned to Manila on September 25 before flying to Los Angeles Tuesday.

According to Australian authorities, the Filipino-born Danley has Australian citizenship and has family there. She lived on the Gold Coast for 20 years before moving to the United States.

Mendoza said the abuse came when Danley would ask to use his casino card to make the purchase.

The sisters, who were not identified by name and whose faces were blurred, added that Danley would willingly cooperate with investigators.

It was not immediately clear where she was being taken.

Danley, referred to as Paddock's longtime girlfriend, had been out of the country for weeks and was in the Philippines at the time of the shooting.

Reynaldo Bustos, her brother, told ABC News that he spoke to his sister following the shooting. Paddock turned his attention to those outside his door and fired, wounding one of them.

The latter attack was previously the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history.

Paddock sent the money to an account before setting up a sniper's nest on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel on Sunday.

At least 59 people have died and more than 515 were injured as the gunman sprayed bullets into the crowds from a hotel balcony.

"We have a lot of questions", Las Vegas Undersheriff Kevin McMahill told reporters. And authorities say it's too early to tell whether the killings were an act of domestic terrorism.

US officials discounted a claim of responsibility by ISIS and said they believed Paddock acted alone.

Las Vegas Police said they would next provide an update on the investigation at 1 p.m. PT (1900 GMT).

Paddock, 64, who used a sledgehammer to smash holes in two thick glass windows of his Mandalay Bay hotel suite, used high-powered rifles modified to be automatic for the mass shooting.

Jordan Knights said he spent time with Paddock and Danley just a few months ago.

Stephen Paddock bought his home there in January 2015, for $369,000. Because Steve is not here to talk anymore, only Marilou can maybe help.

What happened in Las Vegas?

"Mary Lou is absolutely the closest person to Steve", he wrote. Police say the shooter killed himself.

A stash of explosive ammonium nitrate was also found in Paddock's auto.

The guard was "very heroic" and provided police with information about the shooter's location, McMahill said.

They obtained a warrant to search a second house connected to Paddock in Reno, Nevada. He said he expected to release a statement Wednesday afternoon. Investigators then wanted to know who he knew, and did they know about the attack.
