Srinagar, Indian-administered Kashmir - At least two suspected rebels and one soldier have been killed in Indian-controlled Kashmir after fighters stormed a paramilitary base, according to local officials. Top BSF said that two terrorists have been killed and three BSF personnel are injured in ongoing operation.

One officer, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the attackers breached multiple layers of high security outside and inside the camp while exchanging intense gunfire with government troops.

The body of the second terrorist is yet to be retrieved.

#9:15 AM: Total three BSF jawans and a policeman were injured.

Airport officials confirmed that around 9.30 am, they allowed passengers to enter the airport amid increased checks to resume flights.

The airport, which was initially cordoned off, was re-opened for civilians flying out of Srinagar.

"All the three militants have been killed".

In a freakish incident, a BSF camp was attacked by a few terrorists near Srinagar Airport and the Airforce station early Tuesday morning.

No flights are operating till the security clearance and the airport is under the CRPF security.

Mr. Singh said he had spoken to the chiefs of the BSF and the Central Reserve Police Force following the suicide attack.

While speaking to media here, Vaid said, "Srinagar terror attack was not a security lapse".

Police sources told news agency CNS that militants targeted the administrative block of the BSF camp. They added the militants were lying low and stayed in south Kashmir for over a month before executing the attack.

The area also houses training centres of the BSF and the CRPF.

Apart from the Srinagar International Airport, the only other strategically important airport in Kashmir is the Koil airport in Pulwama, which unlike the Srinagar airport has much heavy security arrangements.
