China urges North Korea to not to go further in 'dangerous direction'

  • Wang Li the Chinese foreign minister pledged that China would “strictly” carry out the UN resolutions and shoulder its responsibilities — but that other parties had to too

Russian Federation confirmed "unwavering support for unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity of friendly Iraq, as well as inalterability of the settlement of all problems and contradictions in Iraq by the Iraqi people themselves", the ministry added.

Russian Federation is now subject to strict USA sanctions over its 2014 annexation of Crimea.

US unilateral sanctions on Iran undermine the Iran nuclear deal, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Thursday.

Earlier that day, before a three-way meeting of the U.S., South Korea and Japan, Trump announced a new executive order applying additional sanctions against those trading with the North. Trump also applauded China's central bank for what he said was an order that other banks "immediately stop doing business with North Korea".

Russian Federation has honestly walked along a long path of getting rid of the legacy of the Cold War but received no support in its efforts from its partners in the West, the minister said, expressing his regret over the fact that "some countries still prefer force to dialogue".

Lavrov has met U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson twice in NY this week. Such legislators need to have these political signals.

China's minister for foreign affairs, Wang Yi, was a little more diplomatic.

"Being serious people and responsible people, and I feel Rex Tillerson is one of them, I hope that we can draw conclusions from where we are now and understand where we want to be."

North Korea could test a powerful nuclear weapon over the Pacific Ocean in response to US President Donald Trump's threats of military action, the country's foreign minister has warned.

Addressing the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday, Trump said Iran's 2015 pact with six world powers to curb its nuclear program in return for loosening economic sanctions was "an embarrassment to the United States".

Ri Yong Ho spoke to reporters in NY shortly after Kim Jong Un accused President Donald Trump of being "mentally deranged" and a "dotard" after Trump threatened to "totally destroy" North Korea in a speech to the UN General Assembly on Tuesday.

He stressed that all other parties to the deal, including Russian Federation, support the agreement and don't want it reopened.

Wang said the BRICS countries should carry forward with such an approach and fabricate a network of partners that is open, stable and plural.
