India gave a befitting response to Pakistani Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi at the United Nations in NY this week as India's first secretary with the permanent mission to the UN Eenam Gambhir termed the neighbouring country as Terroristan.

Swaraj asserted that India condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

"Her (Swaraj's) measured responses in spite of provocations speak volumes of her maturity and tenacity".

Pakistan is ready to engage with the US and cooperate for peace in Afghanistan despite reservations over President Donald Trump's policy statement on Afghanistan but there is no space for India to play any role there, Asif explained.

She also highlighted India's fight against other pressing issues like poverty, economy and climate change, and said the country has displayed the courage to take tough decisions which led to a process of sustainable development.

"Why is it today India is a recognized IT superpower in the world, and Pakistan is recognized only as the pre-eminent export factory for terror?"

During her stay, on the sidelines of the UN assembly session, the Indian minister held bilateral meetings with leaders of many nations.

Sushma Swaraj then switched to an nearly pleading tone calling for action on climate change.

Sushma said Pakistanis should look at the progress India had made since the two countries emerged on independence from Britain in 1947.

"We produced scholars, doctors, engineers. We established scientific and technical institutions which are the pride of the world", Swaraj said while addressing the 72nd UNGA session in NY.

Last month, Donald Trump called out the country for often providing "safe haven to agents of chaos, violence, and terror", which was followed by a statement from the BRICS grouping that named specific Pakistan-based terrorist groups.

Swaraj said that it was for the first time in history of UNGA that three countries had asked for right to reply and they all had to collectively respond.

India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi's aggressive behaviour against Pakistan also added fuel to the fire. He said, "Pakistan has faced unremitting hostility from its eastern neighbor" since its creation. "Let us display our new commitment by reaching an agreement on the Comprehensive Convention on International Terrorism this year itself", she urged.
