As the traffic stopped, the army jawan walked up to the woman to seek an explanation for her rash driving and refusal to give them way.

According to the FIR, the soldier was on his way to Hazrat Nizamuddin station in a truck to drop off five colleagues when Kalra, who was driving a Tata Indica, overtook it.

In the complaint, the army subedar alleged that auto was driven by the accused Smriti Kalra in a zigzag manner ahead of them and despite giving horn, the vehicle refused to give them way.

A video made by a passing motorist went viral on the social media.

The soldier and other soldiers are seen trying to speak to her, but to no avail. The Army group claimed that she similarly held him by his collar and slapped him too. After her arrest, the woman told the cops that she was a graduate in home science and was married to an Army officer's son, from whom she got divorced in 2008. He tried to ask her about their fault but she kept abusing them.

On September 9, a woman was caught slapping an Army Jawan on the streets of Delhi. She apparently blamed the constable for being an Army personnel after which he came back to the truck and sat at the driver's seat.

According to police, the woman got out of her auto and slapped the JCO, who was in uniform and was driving an official vehicle, after a minor brush between the two vehicles. However, the army subedar had asked his colleague to do a video recording of the incident.

NDTV reported that Smriti Kalra, a resident of Gurgaon, was arrested for "causing hurt to deter a public servant". Subsequently, Kalra was arrested from her house in Gurugram and her auto seized.
