Gennady Golovkin vs. Canelo Alvarez

Recall that both Golovkin and Alvarez hit scales on 160 pounds (72.57 kg).

This will be the first time Golovkin will fight in Las Vegas, the boxing and entertainment capital of the world.

It was years in the making and it was overshadowed by a nontraditional bout last month, but the Gennady Golovkin-Canelo Alvarez super bout to determine the world's best middleweight fighter is here.

I'm veering towards GGG, given his experience in the ring with bigger boxers and his ability to dictate the pace. But Alvarez packs power, too, and the red-headed Mexican is a savage counterpuncher with a style that should match up perfectly against the onrushing Golovkin. Cotto is aiming to fight the victor of the Alvarez-Golovkin bout before the end of 2017. Come September 16 you'll be able to watch a real fight.

Golovkin (37-0, 33 KOs) is a crusher, boasting the kind of fearsome power that has led him to a so-far undefeated career with a staggering 89 percent knockout rate.

So logically, many do believe that Golovkin's only chance to beat the red-headed fighter from Jalisco is by a clean and resounding knock-out.

Alvarez is one of the best boxers on the planet and is the right man to be the face of the fight game, but he is not the better fighter at this point in time.

"When I was born, all of the fear had already been given out", he said through a translator, per The Guardian's Bryan Armen Graham. Both will make millions of dollars in a fight that holds risks - and plenty of rewards - for both of their careers.

"I expect Golovkin to win", boxing and MMA oddsmaker Joey Oddessa tells Covers. "It's not an easy fight for him or me", Golovkin said.

Two years prior to meeting Golovkin, Geale had been a unified champion of the middleweight division but that didn't stop Golovkin from running riot and finishing the Australian inside three rounds. Seriously. I watch a lot of movies.

The 35-year-old Kazakh went on a 23-bout stoppage streak that spanned roughly nine years before Daniel Jacobs managed to survive 12 rounds with him back in March. There is no time to write the details as you see everything.
